Hypnobirthing FAQs

When should I start Hypnobirthing?

It is recommended that you start anytime after 20 weeks. Most Mums take up the course at around 30 weeks. Starting the course closer to 20weeks means that you will have plenty of time to integrate all the information and practise. However, some women prefer to start the course closer to 30 weeks so that the information is fresher in their minds.

Will I have to practise at home?

Yes, practise is very important. The more practise you do, the more confidant you become. The aim is for the techniques to become second nature to you.

Why have a Birth Companion?

Your birth companion plays an important roll in supporting you throughout the birth. It is preferable that they come to all the Hypnobirthing classes so that they become adept in the tools and techniques that you will learn.

Your birth companion will prompt you and guide you into deeper relaxation.

Who should be my Birth Companion?

Your birth companion can be anyone who is committed to supporting you at your baby’s birth. It can be baby’s Dad, your Mum, another relative or close friend.

Do I need to bring or wear anything in particular?

Just wear lose, comfortable clothing. You are welcome to bring additional cushions, rug’s and so on to support your comfort.

At the first lesson you will receive a folder to place additional material. Please bring that with you each time.

Where can you use Hypnobirthing?

Learning the Hypnobirthing Method means that you will have the confidence to birth anywhere in a calm and relaxed manner. It is suitable for home births, hospital births, water births and even surgical births.

What does the fee cover?

It covers all tuition for you and your birth companion. The Hypnobirthing book, 2xCD’s , additional material and unlimited phone and email support.
